Metric (cm) Scoreboard - how to make a perfect envelope for an A6 card from A4 paper

Updated: May 17

Today I am showing you how to use the Vaessen Creative Metric (cm) scoreboard to make a perfectly sized envelope for your A6 cards, from a single sheet of A4 paper.

The scoreboard is available here (affiliate link) if you are looking for a good metric scoreboard with markings to allow perfect scoring in half of A4 and A5 paper to make A6 cards quickly and simply.

It also has markings for gatefold cards, boxes, and envelope boxes.

The original instructions for the envelope making part of the board don't include a way to make an envelope for A6 (a C6 sized envelope), so I came up with a quick way to do this today.

The dimensions you need to do this are:

Start with a 21cm Square (A4 is already 21cm wide, so this needs just one cut)

Score two opposite sides with the envelope tool at 12cm

Then score the other two opposite sides with the envelope tool at 8.5cm

See the video if you don't know how to use the envelope tool to score an envelope.

I also use the notch and corner punch to make rounded notches in the envelope, this is also slightly different than its original way to be used. Linked here if you'd like it too (affiliate):

The original Vaessen Creative envelope video instructions are here if you'd like to see how it is intended to be used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtXAevcT5BQ
