Sliding Puzzle Cards - Smaller Pieces, Add a Shaker and Lavinia Stamps

Today I'm sharing three different sized Sliding Puzzle Cards:

a 6"x6" card, with inch square pieces and Lavinia Stamps,

an A6 card with small 1.5cm square puzzles pieces and a fun die-cut inlay technique,

finally a 5"x7" card with a fixed section that you can use to add a shaker element to your card as well as the puzzle.

No specialist crafting equipment is needed, these cards need minimal supplies- all you need are pencil, ruler, and a paper trimmer to make these cards. Foam tape will make these easier to assemble, but you can make them with stacked card stock strips or craft foam instead if you prefer.

You can put anything you like on your puzzle as long as you can still cut it up when you've finished, so you can die-cut, stamp, colour, get inky, whatever you love to do.

Lavinia Stamps Card on a 6"x6" - the puzzle is 5"x5" in size

Measurements for a 5"x 5" puzzle (I added a half inch frame)

Base and top piece 5"x 5"

Base strips, cut 6 3/4" by 5"

Piece strips, cut 5 1/2" by 5"

Base piece marked at 1", 2", 3" 4" and 5" to add base strips of foam tape

Piece strips are cut into 1" pieces AFTER using to place base strips on base

Top piece is cut into 1" squares

My foam tape for all the strips was about 2mm deep and 5mm wide. This is just over 1/16" deep and 3/16" wide, it can be a little bigger and it will still work with these measurements, so see what you have or can cut.

Die-cut inlay on a 9cm x 12cm puzzle -fit on an A6 card

Measurements for a 9cm x 12cm puzzle with 1.5cm square pieces

Base and top piece 9cm x 12cm

Base strips, cut 9 1cm by 9cm

Piece strips, cut 8 1cm by 9cm

Base piece marked at 1.5cm, 3cm, 4.5cm, 6cm, 7.5cm, 9cm and 10.5cm to add base strips of foam tape

Piece strips are cut into 1.5cm pieces AFTER using to place base strips on base

Top piece is cut into 1.5cm squares

My foam tape for all the strips was about 2mm deep and 5mm wide. These measurements will only work with foam tape of 5mm wide of less.

Stenciled Shaker Card on a 5"x7" - the shaker area is 3"x3"

Measurements for a 5"x 7" puzzle with no frame

Base and top piece 5"x 7"

Base strips, cut 7 3/4" by 5" (cut one in half to use on the shorter section)

Piece strips, cut 6 1/2" by 5" (cut one in half to use on the shorter section)

Base piece marked at 1", 2", 3" 4", 5", 6" and 7" to add base strips of foam tape

Piece strips are cut into 1" pieces AFTER using to place base strips on base

Top piece is cut into 1" squares

My foam tape for all the strips was about 1/16" (2mm) deep and 1/4" wide. This makes the spacing a little better than my 5mm wide foam tape on inch square puzzle pieces.
