Today I'm making a 5"x7" Sliding Puzzle Card, with no frame, so the puzzle is the full size of the card. This card was originally made on a live stream, but it buffered a bit and cut me off at the end, so this is the edited version with the end put back on! Apologies for any jumpy bits and freezes in the images, I did the best I could to edit it so it still made sense! The full version that streamed is still available under the Live Streams on my channel if you'd like the whole card in real time with a bit more chat.
No specialist crafting equipment is needed - all you need are pencil, ruler, and a paper trimmer to make these cards. Foam tape will make these easier to assemble, but you can make them with stacked card stock strips instead if you prefer. I even show you how to make you own double-sided foam tape strip with craft foam today.
You can put anything you like on your puzzle as long as you can still cut it up when you've finished, so you can die-cut, stamp, colour, get inky, whatever you love to do.
Today's card uses all imperial (inches) measurements.
Measurements for a 5"x 7" no frame card
Base and top piece 5"x 7"
Base strips, cut 8 3/4" by 5"
Piece strips, cut 7 1/2" by 5"
Base piece marked at 1", 2", 3" 4", 5" and 6" to add base strips of foam tape
Piece strips are cut into 1" pieces AFTER using to place base strips on base
Top piece is cut into 1" squares
My foam tape for all the strips was about 2mm deep and 5mm wide. This is just over 1/16" deep and 3/16" wide, it can be a little bigger and it will still work with these measurements, so see what you have or can cut.
